In the tpv Technology Park Villach, a modern kindergarten and the Mini Educational Lab, a research facility for three to six-year-olds, are currently being built. The topping-out ceremony of the sustainable house was celebrated on Thursday.

Lots of wood, large windows framing the landscape, a low-energy concept - this is how the new kindergarten with the Mini Educational Lab presents itself from this coming autumn. The topping-out ceremony in the tpv Technology Park Villach took place on Thursday. The innovative kindergarten project along with the research laboratory for three to six-year-olds is perfectly on schedule.

"Providing the best education for children is as important to us as providing enough childcare places for the balance between work and family. That is why we launched a kindergarten initiative years ago and recently created 200 new childcare places."

- Mayor Günther Albel

Further projects are in the pipeline. Mayor Albel thanked all professionals who are bringing a showcase kindergarten house on track here. Education Councilor Deputy Mayor Sarah Katholnig is particularly concerned with inspiring young girls for technology and research in the Mini Educational Lab. Construction Councilor City Councilor Harald Sobe expressed pride that the sustainable building is fully in line with the Villach philosophy #limitlesslygreen. Architect Alfred Bramberger described the many sustainable details of the three-story building constructed in modern, sustainable wood construction. For the topping-out tradition, Thomas Haider, the youngest construction site worker, was responsible. The house is heated using geothermal probes. In addition to mechanical room ventilation, a large-area photovoltaic system is also planned.

Parallel to the Mini Educational Lab, which is open to all kindergartens, three kindergarten groups will be opened in the tpv kindergarten in autumn for a total of 72 girls and boys. In addition, a daycare center with 15 places and a company kitchen are accommodated. The important project is financed by the city of Villach with strong support from the state of Carinthia and the Carinthian Economic Development Fund.

Fully motivated young singers from the neighboring St. Magdalen kindergarten opened the topping-out ceremony musically.
