The ADMiRE Research Center is an affiliated research institution of the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, specializing in additive manufacturing, intelligent robotics, sensors, and engineering. The center's research revolves around the subjects of Material, Design, Process, and Application, with a strong emphasis on sustainability as a fundamental aspect of its work.
The center's primary objective is to advance additive manufacturing as a fabrication technology in alignment with the principles of the Green Deal, aiming to ensure universal accessibility. The center actively supports the regional, Austrian, and European industries by transferring research findings into practical industrial applications and involving all relevant user groups in the development process. Current application fields include the integration of sensors into smart wearable systems, the development of smart medical phantoms, the design of smart prosthetic and orthotic systems with potential future applications in exoskeletons, robotic path planning for 3D printing, simulation of sensor and system performance for environmental perception and interaction based on tactile and proximity sensing, signal processing and artificial intelligence for sensor data, and the design of robotic grippers for multi-material and soft robotic systems.
