AN IMPORTANT LOCATION FACTOR

Mayor Günther Albel reminded attendees that the site was an industrial ruin over 30 years ago, where many people lost their jobs. “Now, we have over 800 jobs in 30 companies here in the Technology Park.” Furthermore, research and development, education, and training are closely interconnected. The significantly expanded apprentice training is an important step for qualifying employees, which will be a central factor for company establishments in the future.

From the state of Carinthia, Governor Peter Kaiser and Labor Market and Technology Advisor Vice Governor Gaby Schaunig thanked all responsible partners for their implementation. Sabine Herlitschka, Chairwoman of the Board of Infineon Austria Technologies AG, referred to apprenticeships as an important pillar. Infineon has trained around 650 apprentices so far; currently, there are 100. Herlitschka particularly emphasized that former Infineon apprentices are also involved in training at "Campo."
